❑As part of the implementing the 7.1 - Redundancy Requirement of the Third Edition UL® 1981 Standard, the Watch Dog2 application is installed on each Work Station (PC) that will be used by an Operator to Process Alarm Signals
•The WatchDog2 application - used in conjunction with the Redundancy process - must be Version 184.108.40.206 or later.
•WatchDog2 requires a Connection Manager entry (titled WatchDog).
✓Signal ID = A114 Alarm Code = System Messages OCTAR = Alarm Description = Database Disconnected
•Once started, the WatchDog2 application will show an Icon in the Hidden Icons display
✓The installing Technician will configure WatchDog2 for the specific computer on which it will be running.
•The WatchDog2 application "pings" each of the database servers to see if they are "available."
a)If the Primary server (Server 1) goes down, WatchDog2 tries the Alternate Server defined in the Connection Manager
i.If available, it will start the Alternate Server defined in the Connection Manager
ii.If not, it will start the Alternate 2 Server defined in the Connection Manager.
•When a supervised equipment failure occurs (e.g., Signal ID A114), an Alert tone is sounded, and the appropriate message is displayed:
