Work Order Profit

This Work Order Profit dialog (which is actually presented as a data grid) may be populated based on the Requested On Date entered for Work Orders created within a specified Date Range

Each selected Work Order is listed with:

The (Retail) Charges and (Wholesale) Costs that were recorded

The Totals for those Charges and Costs, and

The calculated Profit (or Loss) resulting from them.

 

Grand Totals for those Charges and Costs are also provided.

The resulting data may be formatted, grouped, filtered, sorted and then Printed and/or Exported, as needed.

 

To view the Work Order Profit Report:

a)From the Backstage Menu System Select Reports and Choose Service Tracking and Select the Work Order Profit option, or

b)From the Quick Access Menu, Select Reports and Choose Service Tracking and Select the Work Order Profit option

Setting Up the Work Order Profit dialog's data grid Options:

Select Date Field - Using the Drop-Down Selection List provided, Choose the type of date that will be used to populate this Work Order Profit dialog

The choices are: Completed Date, Requested Date, Serviced Date, Created Date, Last Modified Date, Scheduled Date, Invoice Date.

This selection will determine which Work Order Form's field will be compared to your Start and End Date entries (see below).

 

Start - Initially, by default the Start field's Date entry is set to Last Week (7 days ago).

Use the Drop-Down Calendar/Date Entry field to Choose a different Start date, if required.

 

End - Initially, by default the End field's Date entry is set to Today (now).

Use the Drop-Down Calendar/Date Entry field to Choose a different End date, if required.

 

Retrieve - Click the Retrieve Icon HelpFilesRetrieveDataIconto load the Work Orders whose Date is within the Date Range established in the Select Date Field above.

 

Go To Options - Right-Click on any line item within the Work Order Profit Grid to open the Radial Right-Click Menu to access one of the  options listed below:

a)Go To Invoice option to open the associated Invoice Form

b)Go To WO option to open the Work Order Form

c)Go To Subscriber to open the associated Subscriber Form

Columns - Select which columns of data are to be displayed:

Available Columns

 

Click the asterisk (¬) at the left of the data grid's Header row (see the mouse pointer in the illustration above) to display a list of all of the column names - representing that data - which may be displayed.

By default, all Column Names will be Checked.

Remove the Check mark (Click on the Check to remove it) to hide that column of data from the data grid.

 

Setting the Order in which the data in the grid is Listed within the Work Order Profit dialog (Report):

The default sorted order of the Work Order Profit is based on the second column in the List - the Work Order Number (WO #) - which is ordered from lowest to highest (1 - 999999)

Thereafter, the column that determines the sorted order of the List may be easily changed, whenever needed.

Whatever sorted order was last used will become the new default the next time the User accesses this Work Order Profit dialog.

To do so:

Click another column's Header Name (the mouse points to the sorting arrow within the Name Header in the illustration above) to change the sorted order to by on that column of data, with the sorted order automatically set from lowest to highest (a-z or 1 - 9).  

To change this newly selected column's sorted order from highest to lowest, Click that column's Header Name again.

An Arrow next to the Header Name indicates the column that is determining the sorted order of the Grid Data.

o~ indicates lowest to highest (a-z or 1 - 9)

o indicates highest to lowest (z-a or 9-1).

 

Accessing the Work Order Form associated with any listed Work Order

Double-Click on any field in the the data grid to open and view that record's Work Order Form.

 

Create any Custom Filters for the Work Order Profit dialog's data grid (see the Grids & Lists chapter and its subordinate chapters for those instructions).

 

Using the Work Order Profit dialog

Set Up the data as needed (e.g., establish a Date Range, select the columns to be included, choose the sorting order, set filters, etc.)

 

Once the desired Set Up is defined, there are four choices:

1.Print - View the Print Preview dialog which will display - as currently formatted - the Work Order Profit dialog's data grid in a printable format

2.Export - Save the the Work Order Profit dialog's data grid - as currently formatted - in a Spreadsheet file (XLS), text file (txt), or CSV file format

The Windows® Save As dialog will be presented, within which you may choose the location, file name and file type you want to be Exported (saved).

 

3.Email - Once the data has been formatted, filtered, sorted and configured as needed, Click the EMail Icon to send this data as a PDF attachment to an Email address of your choosing.

 

4.Go To Subscriber - To view the Subscriber Form associated with a specific Work Order:

Select that Work Order data line

Click the Go To Subscriber Icon.
