Using the Send Log option:

The Send Log option provides access to the Request Tech Support dialog for SPA.

Select Send Log to report an issue directly to Technical Support

Do you want to report a problem specific to the SPA product?

 

Answer Yes

When Yes is selected  (unless there are configuration errors), the Request Tech Support dialog for SPA is displayed

Fixing Send Log Errors:

If the content (e.g., details) of the Log File is insufficient, an error message will be displayed

Sorry, your log is not useful for troubleshooting due to missing information.

 

To correct this problem, you must access the Log File Verbosity Selector dialog.

On the System tab, Select Log File and Choose the Configure Logging option.

The Log File Verbosity Selector dialog will be displayed.

Check the required items (some may already be Checked) to meet requirements in the error message illustrated above.

 

Once the required logging information is selected in the Log File Verbosity Selector dialog, Click OK.

On the System tab, Select Log File and Choose the Configure Logging option, again.

 

The Request Tech Support dialog will be displayed.

Using the Request Tech Support dialog

After reporting this SPA issue to Technical Support and getting an Issue Number (e.g., Mantis Issue # and/or IssueTrac #), enter the appropriate information in the Request Tech Support Form.

There are three sections in this Request Tech Support Form

1.Reported Issue's Title and Description with severity rating and the associated Control Number:

a.Mantis Issue Summary (Title) - Enter a brief phrase representing the issue that is being documented.

b.Issue Description (Details) - Enter a detailed description of the issue that is being documented.

c.Priority for this Issue - Identify the Priority of this issue.

d.Enter an issue number (this is a mandatory step and if skipped, an error message will be displayed is an attempt is made to send this data):

i.Mantis Issue # - Enter the Mantis Issue Number for the issue being reported (as provided by Technical Support)

ii.IssueTrac # - Alternately, enter the IssueTrac Number for this issue (as provided by Technical Support)

 

2.Documents, images and log file related to the issue that is being reported:

a.A screen shot and a log file snippet are inserted automatically.

b.If additional screen shots or files relating to this issue are available, they may be added (Use the Add File button - see below, locate and select the item; then repeat as needed).

a.Add File - Click this button to locate and insert related Documents, and/or images

b.Help - Click this button to display Information about using this Request Tech Support Form

c.Cancel - Click this button to abandon this Request Tech Support entry.

d.OK - Click this button to transmit the message with these attachments.
